- Try doing this. Using your manual, set your result codes to show DCE rate
- (modem to modem CONNECT speed) instead of DTE rate (computer to
- modem rate). Also select a set of result codes that displays more info
- about the connection--after the CONNECT 28800 you should be able to
- display a string of info about error detection/compression protocol used.

- The default on many modems is to negotiate error correction/compression
- if the modem on the other end cooperates, but to connect anyway if the
- other modem doesn't. You may want to set your modem to not accept
- the connection if the other modem will not negotiate error detection--you
- definetely need that on high speed modem connections.
